 Question

I need the source code in Java

1) find the index of the largest value of an array.

2) display the index of the largest value of an array.

3) Sum the total of the largest value of an array

For example the car array is = {2,3,0,3}

[0] = 2 belongs to suzuki

[1] = 3 belongs to honda

[2] = 0 belong to toyota

[3] = 3 belongs to hyundai

I need the solution in Java to find the largest value which is 3. so if 2 of the elements in the array is the largest, I need to display both

The sample output should be as this format

The largest value is :

honda = 3

hyundai = 3

Sum of the total cars = 6

Solution

Introduction

Use an array to store the number of cars and another array to store respective cars

Main.java

public class Main
{
 public static void main(String[] args)
 {
  int car[]={2,3,0,3};        //initialize cars array
  String brand[]={"suzuki","honda","toyota","hyudai"};    //initialize brands array

  int maximum=car[0]; //assign first car as maximum

  for(int i=1; i<4; i++){ //i from 1 to 3
      if(maximum<car[i])      //if larger element is found
          maximum=car[i];         //replace maximum
  }

  int sum=0;     //initialize sum to 0
  for(int i=0;i<4;i++){   //i from 0 to 3
      if(car[i]==maximum){    //if car is same as maximum
          System.out.println(brand[i]+" = "+car[i]);  //print brand and car
          sum=sum+car[i];                             //add car to sum
      }
  }
  System.out.println("Sum of the total cars = "+sum); //print sum finally
 }
}
